Last week, we enjoyed our first long weekend after the new year’s eve. There are a lots of reason why we celebrate it but the main point of this. Is that, we lighten up our self “relax, unwind, chill mood” from the heavy workloads.
As we welcomed the long weekend. Celebration would not be complete without this very delicious special dish.
Yes! as I mentioned on our previous blog we have a food buddy. Prior on this, Hazelle and I wanted to make homemade sushi. Unfortunately, we cannot find good quality of mango in our place. Also, that day was our monthsary. She suggested that, instead of sushi why not spare ribs. My babe and I surprisingly amazed :). To be honest, she’s so brilliant in the kitchen (super).
This time, she taught me how to make gravy sauce. With her guidance we made perfect and classy sauce pair with her special dish.
This Spicy BBQ Beef Ribs ala Aze was perfectly good, like on previous blog. They look amazing! Tender,juicy, fall off the bone barbecue. Well- seasoned, perfectly saucy and sticky! All I looking for in a good oven baked BBQ beef spare ribs.
Ingredients: serving size 7 – 8 person.
For the beef spare ribs: boiled
- 1 1/2 beef spare ribs
- 1 onion, diced
- 20 pcs whole pepper
- 6 pcs bay leaf
- 3 pcs cinnamon bark
- 2 Beef cubes
- 1 tbsp ginger
- 1 tbsp dried basil
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp pepper powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 lemon juice
- add salt to taste
For barbecue flavor:
- 4 tbsp Spicy Papa Ketchup
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire
- add sugar to taste
For the Potatoes
- 4 pcs big potatoes
- 40 g of butter
- 2 tbsp red chili powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
For the Sauce
- 4 cups Beef broth with barbecue flavor
- 60 g butter
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1 pc egg
- sliced of lemon and minced parsley 🙂
1.Boil beef spare ribs with diced onion, pepper, bay leaf, cinnamon bark, beef broth until slightly cooked.
2. While boiling, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut potatoes into cubes and season with salt, pepper, red chili powder and garlic, then set aside.
3. In a pan, melt 40 g butter and toss seasoned potatoes. Just keep stirring until golden brown.
4. Remove boiled spare ribs from the pot .
5.Season boiled spare ribs with salt, pepper, dried basil, dried oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, lemon juice, spicy papa ketchup,worcestershire and sugar (for barbecue flavor). Marinate for couple of minute. optional marinate over night :).
6.Place the ribs on a parchment paper tray in a single layer.Toss together and bake for 30 minutes.
7. After 30 minutes, toss in spicy buttered potatoes inside the oven with the spare ribs. Cook for couple of minute.
8.In small pot, prepare the sauce with beef broth (use the marinated sauce), butter, cream and egg. Whisk together until well incorporated.
9. Then serve immediately 🙂
This savory and hearty dish make us feel warm for hours. What wine to serve? Red, of course…
